Graeme Stretch

Graeme Stretch is a Director of HealthLink. He is responsible for strategy, technology, new services and business partnerships. Graeme joined HealthLink in 2002 and has worked closely with Tom Bowden (CEO) in growing the company as it moved from being a messaging provider to online services company. During this time the average number of parties a New Zealand general practice exchanges clinical information with has increased from 12 to 64, the volume of clinical information exchanged has increased ten-fold and HealthLink now supports more than 11,000 customer organisations across Australasia.

Graeme has a technical background in telecommunications, working for the former NZ Post Office before the formation of Telecom NZ and in the NZ Forest Service, prior to moving into a career of finance and IT. Prior to joining HealthLink, Graeme spent eight years in senior commercial roles with Carter Holt Harvey’s Pulp and Paper Division. During this time he was responsible for the organisation’s IT and for delivering large scale information systems across the division, focusing upon aligning IT to business outcomes.

Over the last eight years Graeme has been engaged by state and federal government departments in Australia and Canada on how to remove barriers for the uptake of electronic information exchange. In New Zealand he has been directly involved in the establishment of the National Child Immunisation Register, Diabetes management systems, electronic referrals and the National Digital Certificate Authority (health sector).
