Dick Sainsbury

Dick Sainsbury is Emeritus Professor in Health Care of the Elderly at the University of Otago, Christchurch and also an elected member of the Medical Council of New Zealand. His research interests include the rehabilitation of older people after hip fracture and other physical illnesses. He is also interested in the rehabilitation of people with amputations.

Outside his professional life, Dick's interests include cricket and music. He has recently completed an MA in English literature and is particularly interested in the portrayal of older people in books and poetry.
