Contraceptive Choice and Management
Concurrent Workshop
Saturday, 14 June 2014 Start 4:30pm Duration: 60mins Baytrust
How can we ensure that couples choose an appropriate contraceptive method and that they have realistic expectations of the method?

If they have side effects, how can we manage them or should we recommend a change in method?

Do LARCs live up to their expectations?

Family Planning followed up a cohort of Jadelle contraceptive implant users for 12 months. Did we find a high rate of discontinuation or did we find most were happy with the method?

Are we restricting IUD use unnecessarily in relationship to STI risk and whether a woman has had a child?

What does the latest evidence on emergency contraception and overweight women mean for our practice?

We will explore these and other contraceptive topics in this workshop.
