Howard Klein
Dr Howard Klein is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in New Zealand. His practices are based in Christchurch and Dunedin, and he also holds regular public clinics in Invercargill. He is a consultant surgeon at St. Georges Hospital, Southern Cross Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Dunedin. He is also is an active member of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Christchurch Hospital.   Dr Klein graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in the United States and received training in general surgery at McGill University in Canada. He completed Plastic Surgery training at Duke University.   Dr Klein is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has written numerous chapters for major Plastic Surgery textbooks and has authored over twenty-five scientific publications.   Dr Klein is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Medical Council of New Zealand. He is the Immediate Past President of the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons (NZAPS) and Director of the Australasian Foundation for Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, New Zealand Foundation for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Southern Cross Affiliated Provider Skin Surgical Workshop Concurrent Workshop Friday, 15 August 2014 Start 4:30pm Duration: 120mins Room 8 Advanced wound assessment and practical surgical skills   This highly interactive master class for new and existing Southern Cross Affiliated Providers will encompass both didactic and practical components that address key aspects of wound assessment and its surgical management. Using case-models, the didactic session will be clinically oriented and incorporate a high level of audience participation. Participants are invited to submit cases for discussion as part of the workshop. We would prefer that a digital image of the case be submitted by email to the Foundation at wliu@plasticsurgeryfoundation.org.au no later than 5 June 2014 so that it can be included as part of the workshop program. The practical component of the workshop will allow advanced hands-on suturing practice on simskin models. Please note that this workshop is an advanced master class aimed at Affiliated Provider GPs who wish to refresh or further develop their surgical skills.
