Gabrielle Gallagher

Gabrielle has a background in primary health nursing, specialising in diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, early identification and management. A role as clinical support facilitator for a PHO provided experience in supporting general practice staff around long term conditions, particularly CVD. For the last six years Gabrielle has been with the Heart Foundation, responsible for the training of health professionals throughout NZ in CV risk assessment and management. The Heart Foundation plays a critical role in supporting health professionals working in this area via the provision of resources, programmes and training. Over the last five years Gabrielle has worked in partnership with PHARMAC’s One Heart Many Lives team to provide high quality CV risk assessments with brief management for Maori and Pacific men at community events in high risk areas around NZ.
