Hawke’s Bay has implemented three 0.5 FTE clinical pharmacists into volunteer general practice teams to facilitate evidence based prescribing in primary care.
Three different models were trialled to see how this service may be best delivered over a 2 year pilot.
All three sites showed a significant benefit from having a clinical pharmacist as part of their general practice team. These results will be discussed along with how the service was implemented and the experience of those involved.
